Omega is 2” shorter, 2. By hair, I mean less than a 1/16” of side to side play. Sounds too Dremel-y for my baby, looking for something that just works with the Obsidian mount.I have the same setup, mine has a hair of wiggle from side to side. It has a 1.5-inch diameter and is 4.6 inches in length. It is a 9mm centerfire pistol silencer, intended to suppress many cartridges with projectiles appropriately sized to travel through the bore, including subsonic and supersonic 300 BLK from barrels as short as 8 inches. It's obviously heavy and big for that job, but it works well on a SW M&P22 AR rifle.Very nice! How is the fit between the Rugged 3-lug mount and the ILWT adapter? Much wiggle? I think Hansohn says the Rugged mount might require "fitting" to work with their 3-lug. The Omega 9K is manufactured by SilencerCo. 22lr guns as the can is able to be disassembled for cleaning, like the Odessa 9. I've only been out with it a few times, but so far it works very well.įWIW, you can also use the Obsidian 9 on. Sounds too Dremel-y for my baby, looking for something that just works with the Obsidian mount.Īs for the OP, if the 12 month wait doesn't scare you off from getting the Obsidian, I doubt all the positive reviews here will.Twist it on and it doesn't move at all. 458 SOCOMwith the appropriate barrel length. 45 ACP, the extremely robust device handles some real heavyweights, including. Rugged Suppressors Obsidian 45 Technically, the Rugged Suppressors Obsidian 45 is much more than a 9mm suppressor. Pretty compact package.įWIW, you can also use the Obsidian 9 on. It's attached to an ILWT 3 lug adapter for quick detach.Ĭlose up of how much it sticks out in the short config. Have it on a Scorp pistol with the carbine hand guards. I DO have a Mystic 9, itll work with all those calibers I think. The 9mm cans have to accept boosters (usually) so they tend to be a bit different. Thats another problem -finding a good can thatll accept 9mm. I also believe that if you have an easily serviceable core that it makes it more future proof. Finally got my Obsidian 9 after 300 days of waiting. Now the Omega 9k isnt much bigger than a TBAC 5', and those cans are great for SBRs but not for your only large can. I personally wouldn't buy a sealed SMG or pistol can as I like to see the build up for myself. You can see that my original MK9K ports are building up with crap around the ports and the inside of the outer tube is also building up and I periodically chip it away. The one on the right is being remade as he made the threads too short. In the middle and right are the original Tim Bixler (SCRC) mounts that have no springs and are rock solid but take more time to install/remove. The one on the left and pictured above is using the typical push/turn 3 lug mount patented by Greg Latka (GSL) that everyone pretty much copies these days. Pictured below is one of my MK9K's on the left, clone but beefed up ported area in the middle and my new stainless Curtis Tactical can that is completely serviceable with backward compatible MK9K mounts. Nice short length and just as quiet as my old original MK9K with that nice deep tone. My new Curtis Tactical MK9K 'hybrid' clone. I think this covers all my handguns and PCCs. Omega 9k and Octane 9 (with trilug adaptors) for MP5s and MPX (w/ trilug barrel)ĪAC TiRant 9 for 9mm handguns with 1/2x28 piston The plan was as follows, but I'm asking because I'm not sure my plan is the best route to take: I have pistons for the Octane 45/45K for 16mm LH (Kriss Vector). To those who have these (or others?), what is the best can for the MP5 platform with trilug mount?īTW- I also have an AAC TiRant 9 that is back at AAC getting repaired (K baffle broke). I'm planning to switch the Griffin Armament adaptor to the Omega 9K for use on the MP5s for now, but was wondering what I should expect from the Octane 9 and Octane 45K. It is a really great can and suppresses really well. I am currently running a 45 Octane with Griffin Armament trilug adaptor. I have a couple MP5 clones that have trilug mounts.
